Nicola Stirton

Board of Governors

Nicola is married to Sean and is the very proud mum of 3 beautiful and active children who keep her on her toes. Nicola grew up in Durban North and completed her schooling in Umhlanga. She began her studies in Occupational Therapy at Westville University in 2004 and completed her Community service in Phoenix at the Assessment and Therapy Centre. Nicola has worked at Livingstone Remedial School as well as in various private practices. During 2011 Nicola completed her Sensory Integration qualification, and went on to establish her own practice in Ballito, which included working with several local mainstream schools. Whilst working and living in the Ballito area, Nicola recognised a crucial need for a Special Needs School, and together with parents who have a daughter with special needs, started a Special Needs Centre called Bloom in 2014. Nicola has since completed her training in the SOS approach to feeding, and is rolling out an app that enables Occupational Therapists to manage their programmes in a planned and structured manner.
